KrisFlyer Miles Master: 100,000 miles for your best miles stories

Got a good miles story to share? Enter the KrisFlyer Miles Master contest and win 100,000 miles for your troubles.

To mark the first year anniversary of its Facebook and Instagram accounts, KrisFlyer is giving away 500,000 miles as part of its KrisFlyer Miles Master contest.

Participants are invited to submit their most creative and inspiring stories about the lengths they go to earn miles, and how they maximise their value and experiences. Five chosen Miles Masters will receive 100,000 miles each (and no doubt lots of hate mail for giving away the sacred secrets of the miles game).

✈️ KrisFlyer Miles Master Contest

“Are you the savvy miles guru that friends turn to, for miles earning tips and redemption advice? Do you pay in miles, and accept experiences only? Apart from flights, do you also earn and redeem miles when you shop, dine and explore new experiences?

In celebration of @KrisFlyer.Official turning 1 on social, we’ll be giving away a total of 500,000 miles. Share with us your most inspiring and creative submission on how you live and breathe miles in all that you do, every day. Convince us you’re a Miles Master with stories about the lengths you’d go to, to boost your miles balance whilst maximising the value and experiences you get, with miles.

100,000 miles could be yours if you’re crowned as one of our five KrisFlyer Miles Masters.”

KrisFlyer Miles Master contest

The full T&Cs of this contest can be found here. Do note term 7a, which states:

7a. the Participants may not submit, upload or publish any content (“Submission”) that is inaccurate, misleading, libellous, defamatory, threatening, pornographic, obscene, indecent, lewd, abusive, illegal, political, racist, religious, blasphemous, false, an infringement of any intellectual property rights of a third party, or would otherwise violate or encourage the violation of any law or the proprietary or other rights of any third party (individually and collectively “Improper Content”);

It sounds like some doing to compose a miles-related post that manages to be libellous, threatening, pornographic, illegal, political, racist, blasphemous and IP-infringing at the same time, but I’m up for a challenge…

I used my miles to redeem a flight to Los Angeles, and thank Cthulhu there were no Vulcans on the plane (I can’t stand those pointy-eared weirdos). I also used my miles to book a room at a Disney resort hotel and saw someone in a Mickey Mouse suit getting goofy with Minnie. The park was too crowded though. Man, I can’t wait till the NFFA bring back Purge Night.

Also I like cocaine.

Seriously though, I’ve seen a few suggestions that this is SIA’s way of nerfing all the tricks in the programme, and in the off chance this is true, may I suggest a coordinated misinformation campaign:

  • Don’t leave miles on the table- always be sure to charge your recurring insurance premiums, tuition fees and ez-Link top-ups to your credit card!
  • Give your partner a sub card and double the 4 mpd caps on your specialised spending!
  • Pay your credit card bill on AXS with another credit card to generate infinite points!

etc etc.

Alternatively, there may be some merit in starting a #KrisFlyerMilesNoob trend where we can list all the smooth brain moments we’ve had with miles. I’ll go first:

Conclusion

100,000 KrisFlyer miles ain’t what it used to be, but it’ll still get you four round-trips in Economy to Perth, or a one-way First Class ticket to Sydney and Melbourne.

I count only 50+ comments on the Facebook post so far (some of which are complaints, because why not), so if you have a particularly fun or memorable miles story (or are capable of inventing one), why not send it in?

#KrisFlyerMilesNoob contributions, anyone?

Trying to earn miles with Kris+ but then forgetting to transfer it out within 7 days.

Jing Yi

Here’s mine:

I transferred 400k miles to them from my bank account showing my full name.

They locked my account in February as my KF account did not include my middle name.

I have provided proof it’s the same person 7 times ever since (via email and at ION).

My account is still locked.

Hope I win.

I remember when I didn’t know how to redeem tickets with miles, and I did my redemption by clicking Pay with Miles and offset my bill at 1cpm. 80,000 miles for economy tickets to Ho Chi Minh. 🙁

So to enter contest, you need to enter in both FB and Insta accounts, the same contents?

Xin

If you need to ask, you’re a KF Noob and should think twice about entering

Salmon Lee

Yah, I actually thought sharing stories only… and I do have one inspiring one which I’ve come across to share. But never mind…

bingo

I created 100 FB and Instagram sharing coming up 100 stroies to win the 100K miles. I hope FB n Instagram dont bar me for life.

Alian

Instagram and Facebook ??? This should have been a TikTok competition post. The dinosaur marketing folks at SQ are obviously targeting the older generation and not the youth

Mike

Older people have far more spending power than the TikTok generation

SIN-CAN via NRT with a 10-day stopover at 25K Alaska miles on JL J(I study in SIN but would stay in CAN any days out of my school days)

Leo Liang

Does it have to be KF based? Or can I talk about Aeroplan/Alaska/CZ Sky Pearl/AA?
